The basic premise of finder relay is to ensure the quality and safety of the market and direct users of products. Finder is the professional manufacturer with the most approvals in the world. Before that, the importance of product approval, the reliability provided by each approval and the risks avoided were emphasized.
Considering this, finder relay has developed a series of certified and certified relay interfaces, timing modules and power relays for printed circuit boards in hazardous areas according to the international technical standards of IEC 60079-15:2015 series. IEC Technical Committee 31 - explosive gas equipment - Brazil took the place of participants.
Understand explosive environment
Many professionals engaged in the maintenance industry in the food, pharmaceutical, steel, oil and gas industries know that some combinations will cause greater explosion risk. Explosive environments or ATEX areas are places where there are some factors that cause explosions.
Flammable mixtures in the form of gas, steam, powder or mist, as well as dangerous conditions such as high temperature, arc or spark, may explode.
Explosion sequence
Therefore, in order to determine the dangerous degree of the location, the concentration of the substance should be considered. That is, hazardous areas are classified according to the possibility of explosive gases.
Choose the ideal equipment for explosive environment
Imagine that you are working in a place with a high probability of explosion, where gas, steam, powder or mist are constantly mixed.
For areas with high gas concentration, to know what kind of equipment you will use in this location, you need to understand the possibility of explosive environment according to the following three areas:
Zone 0: explosive mixture under normal conditions (or long-term existence)
Zone 1: under normal conditions, explosive mixtures may exist
Zone 2: under normal circumstances, the area of explosive mixture rarely appears, and if it exists, it will exist for a limited time
In places with high dust concentration, the categories are different, but the risks to be assessed are similar to those in gas areas.
Zone 20: the area of explosive dust mixture under normal conditions or long-term existence
Zone 21: areas where explosive dust mixtures may exist under normal conditions
Zone 22: the area without explosive mixture under normal conditions, only in a very short time
In order to accurately ensure the safety of products sent to these places, IEC created 60079 standard in 2014 to regulate products that can be used in ATEX explosive environment.
If your workplace is located in zone 2 and zone 22, you can choose to declare the equipment as Category 3. If ATEX is found to be an EU directive under HazLoc or hazardous location standards in the United States, it is equivalent.
Finder relay products complying with ATEX international directive
Chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical industries and gas stations, liquefied gas deposits (classified as explosive gas zone 2 (presence of gas)) can rely on the new interface and relay 39 | 58 | 66 | 86 | series. Therefore, all these finder products belong to category 3 of ATEX protection level.
The equipment declared as Category 3 does not need third-party certification, that is, the self certification issued by the manufacturer itself has been valid according to law. Even so, all finder relays with ATEX components have been certified by external laboratories. Reiterate and guarantee that the products comply with the latest ATEX standards.
Special applications of finder relay products
As mentioned above, some major industries and companies that must install ATEX certified products are designed to protect users and reduce explosion hazards in areas where such hazards exist. However, finder products are most suitable for other types of applications: refrigerators in countless supermarkets, bars, community markets, restaurants, ice cream shops and so on.
The cooling system of refrigerators installed in these places contains explosive gases. Using ATEX certified products, if the refrigeration system fails, the circuit area (the area where the engine and other electrical components are located) may leak, and the gas will accumulate above the relay without generating sparks to switch the relay. Cause an explosion.
Because of this, finder relay products with ATEX directive have great advantages.
