Electromagnetic relay is an electronic control device. However, the commonly used control equipment is still mainly electromagnetic relay, because it has high reliability, convenient self-locking and interlocking, and can adapt to complex control circuits. The use of solid state relays can only be seen when electronic controls are frequently turned on and off. These two kinds of relays have their own characteristics in use. Electromagnetic relays are widely used in industrial control. Solid state relays are widely used in electronic control and some special environments. The solid-state relay does not produce electric sparks when working, with fast switching speed, long service life, small control power and good stability. It is suitable for use under harsh environmental conditions such as mines, natural gas and tunnels. However, when the switch is turned on, the voltage drops greatly and consumes a certain amount of power. Therefore, the temperature rises relatively fast. It is necessary to install a heat dissipation device and apply thermal conductive silicone grease.

The electromagnetic relay contacts will produce sparks when working, which is not suitable for use in hazardous places such as flammable (explosive) gases. The damp environment is easy to oxidize the relay coil, and the frequently operated contacts will have certain wear and even carbon deposition, thus increasing the contact resistance, resulting in burning, fusing or fusing, resulting in the failure or failure of the whole machine. Of course, explosion-proof and moisture-proof electromagnetic relays can also be used in these environments, but the price is relatively expensive.

  Fault judgment

Generally speaking, the coil of electromagnetic relay has standard resistance value, which can be used as a reference for our detection. If it is too small, it is a short circuit; If it is too large, it is an open circuit.

Sometimes the electromagnetic relay will hide faults during operation, which is difficult to eliminate. The multimeter is normal, but the electromagnetic relay does not respond quickly. At this time, you can check the voltage pull in value and release value of the electromagnetic relay. These two voltages determine whether the working state of the relay is normal. Generally speaking, the release voltage is about one third of the pull-in voltage. If it is not in this proportion, the electromagnetic relay will not work stably. You can also observe whether the contacts are carbonized and blackened, and whether the resistance increases. These problems can be directly replaced.

In the work, when the equipment moves, the action coordination of the corresponding parts is not in place occasionally, but it is not in place every time. Finally, it is found that the problem is caused by the untimely response of an electromagnetic relay. The detection of solid-state relay can be divided into output and input measurement, because it is an optical coupling electronic switch. The input end is usually led, and the resistance of its input end can be detected by the detection diode. When the solid-state relay is not powered on, because the output terminal is always disconnected, if the multimeter detects that it is connected or not connected when powered on, it can be considered that the solid-state relay is damaged.
